If you had the opportunity to visit the NHI Dream Home, then you had the luxury of being transported to a tranquil getaway without leaving the Triangle.

With just a step into the backyard you entered a world of relaxation complete with an in-ground pool, a waterfall and a tanning shelf, a patio extending the length of the home and landscaping that secluded you in your own private resort. Being true to its name, Backyard Oasis Pools helped create this mystical haven.

Together with his partner, Vance Willis, Backyard Oasis Pools co-owner Sean Cabot started with a vision for the NHI Dream Home pool. “The vision was to create a pool that was functional to a wide variety of people [while keeping] it affordable. We also wanted to create the ‘showy’ side of the pool [by adding] the raised wall and water features to give a soothing sound of a waterfall.”

The NHI Dream Home pool design was not, however, the first time these partners were struck with a crystal clear vision. Driven by the desire to introduce their brand of customer service and quality products, Cabot and Willis were determined to make a splash when they opened the doors to their Triangle-based company three years ago. According to Cabot, “giving people what they want, not over committing, and then being able to come back a year or two later and still have a positive relationship with the customer,” are key elements to the success of Backyard Oasis Pools.

Since North Carolina has an acceptable climate for year-round building, homeowners who hope to have a pool ready for the spring can start construction in the fall and winter. New homesites are the easiest for building pools because of the access to the property and the lack of landscaping. Cabot assures customers, however, that “when building in an existing home there are a few challenges, but nothing that we can not deal with through a few meetings.” They also urge customers to work with landscape architects whose expertise can be extremely helpful when designing the overall concept of the backyard.

Cabot admits that while they provide great customer service as well as “a tremendous value and product,” customers should always be prepared and informed. “Ask questions and go see pools that the potential pool builder has built,” he added. “Reputable pool builders will proudly share all their work.”

Cabot is proud of Backyard Oasis Pools’ relationships with their customers and feels their customer service and quality work attributes to their 100 percent on-time payment history and low number of concerns.

Cabot is also proud of their involvement with the NHI Dream Home. “We feel that it is very important to participate in programs that are close to our heart,” Cabot commented. Just recently, three-year-old Gabe Pinon, a personal friend of Cabot’s, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. “We will gladly make [the NHI Dream Home] a priority in our company each year the event is held.”
