MASTERPIECE CUSTOM BUILDERS

Masterpiece Custom Builders, formed in 2001, may be considered the new kids on the block in the building community, but owners Mark Hannum and Dave Funk are anything but novices. With more than 25 years of combined experience, Hannum and Funk have the know-how and business connections to create a home to the exact specifications of the client.

Friends for years, Hannum and Funk were both working for larger companies when they decided something was missing. "We had little or no connection with the client," says Hannum. "We decided to form this partnership because we both believe it's important to work directly with the client and be in constant communication." Funk agrees. "I was part of a family construction business that grew so big that once the sales part was done, I lost touch with the client." A mandate of one-on-one service and constant interaction makes Masterpiece Custom Builders unique.

Specializing in high-end homes and major renovations, the pair is committed to staying personally involved with the project from the first decision to move-in and through the end of the warranty period.

The duo also builds a handful of "Spec-Homes," where their passion for design and construction comes out in the details. "We like to take an architect's plan and add our own signature interpretation to the design and interior finishes," says Hannum.

Although approximately 75% of their business is residential, the company also has a background in commercial work and takes on projects such as office buildings, restaurants and specialized tenant finishes.

Hannum and Funk promise something unique to the marketplace: a job that's finished on time and on budget.
